Department of Electrical Engineering, SRICT & IE(I) Student Chapter Electrical Engineering have jointly organized a Virtual Industry visit at Koyna Hydro Electric Power Station  for 3rd Semester Electrical Engineering students on 08/09/2021. The Koyna Hydroelectric Project is the second largest hydroelectric power plant in India, just after Tehri Dam Project. The total capacity of the project is 1,960 MW. The project consists of four stages of power generation. All the generators are located in underground power-houses excavated deep inside the mountains of the Western Ghats. During the virtual visit students were shown the Turbine, Generator, Dam and Electrical Control Room. Students enthusiastically attended the session and asked their doubts.
